Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Programme

The Gentle Art

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling art form that involves control, submissions via joint locks or chokeholds. It gained popularity around the world as a combat sport in the last 10 years or so, and today, the sport of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu(BJJ) continues to flourish. Today, thousands of practitioners practice BJJ to improve their fitness, build character and develop their love for the sport.

When adapted for the streets, BJJ can also be used for self defence. Its concept that a smaller and weaker person can use leverage, and techniques to defend against a much bigger and stronger opponent therefore makes it suitable especially for ladies self defence.

Kapap Academy is very pleased to have our SEA Games Medallist, Wayne Kwan to be the head instructor of our BJJ programme. Being a well accomplished athlete himself, he will be able to guide you in acquiring the skills and the love for the sport of BJJ.
